DancersThis popular event is where you watch a short performance of amazing ethnic dances from each group, then join in an easy one if you liked it! There will be at least 10 different groups performing and leading during the evening, while you enjoy food and drinks made available for purchase by one of the host groups.

Where: Danish House, 6 Rockridge Avenue, Penrose (access from O’Rorke Rd, which runs off Station Rd).

International Dance Workshop

Courtesy of Andre van de Plas, and Kaye Laurendet in Sydney, we shall once again introduce our selection from Andre’s latest repertoire on Winter WarmUp day.

Session 1: 11am to 12:30 - Lunch 12:30 to 1:15 - Session 2: 1.15 to 3.15

Tutors will be Bronwen and Rae, and your favourite caterers, Dot Otto and Pam Sikkema, will provide lunch. We need to know lunch numbers by Saturday 5th August. So please register before then, with payment: Ruritanian Club members $18 (lunch included), $13 (no lunch); others $20 and $15 (no lunch).

FDNZ AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Folk Dance New Zealand will be held via free teleconference this year. This is when we gather to review the achievements of the past year, elect new officers and discuss the coming year's initiatives.

If in Auckland for the workshop and Winter WarmUp, members might like to attend in person at 24 Dell Avenue, Remuera.

Notices of motion, and nominations for the committee and officers, are called for now.

Devonport Community Ceilidh

A fun, family-friendly community dance, the dances will be called by our great dance callers, with wonderful music from the Gaidhealtachd Band and we'll have a shared supper at half time, with tea and coffee available free from the kitchen.

Where: Holy Trinity Church Hall Church Street, Devonport

Cost: Adults $10 Family $20 Under 16s Free - pay at door

Please bring a plate for the shared supper at half time, and we recommend a bottle of water (although there is always water available if you need it).

Northland
