Regional Dance Events

Wellington, Kapiti and Wairarapa

This symbol means you too can dance! Some events are further marked 'experience required'. These are suited to people with some sort of dance experience - also see our class listings to find one near you so you can learn the basic steps and join in!

Events listed below may be associated with FDNZ, its members or affiliates, but all are bound to be heaps of fun!!

Saturdays 4th October, 1st November, 6th December 2014

7:30pm to 11pm

(first Saturday of every month after that)

Contra Dance

with band Chilli Jam, called by fabulous callers Cashy Yates, Janie Cook and Mike Savage

Where: St. Michael's Church Hall in Kelburn (corner of Upland Road and St. Michael's Crescent).

Cost: $15.00 waged adult, $10.00 unwaged, $30 family; contribution for shared supper. Season tickets also available.

Band Chilli Jam will provide live music with fiddle, flute, guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, accordion and hammered dulcimer. Go to the Chilli Jam website for more details including how to get there, where to park, and more about Contradance.

Wellington Folk Festival

Here comes the big 50th Wellyfest!

This year's is going to be a monster festival.... as befits our half century celebration. As usual there will be workshops where you can brush up your skills, gain confidence or have a go at something new.

Registrations will open 15 August. Early bird discounts available till 30 September.
